Unity Founder Steve Morrison
Steve is a former British Middleweight judo champion, who has trained in Judo alongside such prestigious & legendary British Judo names such as Brian Jacks, Neil Adams, Elvis Gordon, Ray Stevens, Densign White, Karen Briggs, ? ? ? & who else etc. Steve Defeated Ray Stevens at squad training only two weeks prior to Ray winning a silver medal at the 1984 ? Olympics.
Steve grew up in Swanscome near Dartford Kent and initially started in boxing as a kid eventually Progressing to Bare Knuckle & underground boxing.
Eventually Steve found Judo in Dartford then judo under? Etc etc, etc
Andy Mcgill’s input
Doorwork ?
Then?
He spent several years living in Japan (roughly when and where training?) at the request of the Japanese Judo squad; training under with & alongside such Judo legends as Katsuhiko Kashiwazaki (1981 Judo World champion & former Sombo World champion), Hidetoshi Nakanishi (Former World Champion), Toshihiko Koga (Three times World Champion and Olympic Gold and Silver medallist) & Yasuhiro Yamashita the 23 stone judo legend who after a remarkable career in which he won five gold medals in international competition and never lost a Judo match from the age of twenty years old (including gold in the world championships in ’79, ‘81, ’83 and Olympic gold in ’84) . Who else was there Sugai ?, Saito?,
Steve has stated that he regularly defeated Koga in Ne-waza practice but in nage-waza (stand up techniques) he was unbelievable, Yamashita was huge and incredibly fast for such a big man and that Kashiwazaki who is still reputed to be the greatest ever ne-waza (ground techniques) specialist who has ever existed in the world of Judo was like fighting glue.
During these years in Japan Steve also gained a 4th Dan Black belt in Ninjitsu under a relative of Soke Masaaki Hatsumi & a 2nd Dan black belt in Shotokan karate.
Then ??
Steve is still involved with the current British judo team where he teaches his speciality of Ne-waza (ground techniques).
He has a few young individual students who he is coaching at present with a view to preparing them for the forthcoming & future Olympic & championship events.
In June 2006 Steve won a silver medal in the Senior British Open at over100kg (He unfortunately came in only a kilogram over his preferred weight category and had to enter the weight limit above) despite having the Flu during the week prior & a torn hamstring throughout the tournament!
Steve has also continued to study the art of Sombo extensively over the years and has trained and competed at clubs throughout Europe as well as in the traditional home of Sombo “Russia”
Recently trained with British Sombo squad, under watchful eye of Martin Clarke 8th Dan Judo, 6th Dan Jiu Jitsu & Grand Master of Combat Sombo. Steve trained alongside John Clarke ?? (the son of Martin Clarke???) who is the reigning 6 time European heavyweight sombo champion.???

We believe that as each child increases their knowledge of the art and progresses through the grading system they receive a real sense of achievement which further increases confidence.
The different movements involved in Martial Arts improve agility, strength and flexibility. The concentration and coordination required to complete each move and technique have been proven to show positive effects on a child cognitive abilities and attention levels.

Sunny Riyat
Sunny has been a private student of the Chief Instructor Vik Hothi for over 6 years, benefiting from a whole range of the Chief Instructor's knowledge and skills ranging from all different types of martial arts, with a particular focus on Wing Tsun Kung Fu, as well as many types of fitness techniques such as kettlebells and clubbells.
Over the many years training under Sifu Vik Hothi, Sunny has also experienced training with many additional masters, but remains a private student of his Chief Instructor due to Sifu Vik's ever-increasing abilities and knowledge of the martial arts and sports science.
Furthermore, due to the success of Sunny's training, he has taken it upon his self to return his Sifu's favour by expressing his ever growing passion of IMAS and helping to instruct and create the best martial artists and people he possibly can.
Sifu Vik Hothi
Sifu Vik has been practicing martial arts for nearly 20 years. After achieving a black belt in karate at an early age and winning many local tournaments he moved on to WTF (full contact) Tae Kwon Do and became regional champion, training with the Great Britain squad.
He was introduced to Leung Ting's Wing Tsun in 1995 and became the youngest 1st TG (black belt) at the age of 17. Sifu Vik opened his first class at age 18 and a little while after started training in Brazilian Jujitsu and Muay Thai boxing. Looking for an effective weapons system, Sifu Vik found Escrima and training with 'Big' Paul Leslie and Master Steve Tappin in 2001.
As a competitive martial artist Sifu Vik became the WT Fighter Club champion, and eventually coach, after fighting and winning 100 full contact limited rules fights (with head guard).
Sifu Vik has also fought in MMA competitions and most recently in the 'Call2Arms' Escrima/MMA arena.
Sifu Vik's pursuit of martial arts excellence led him to begin his studies in sports science and physical culture, and as a result was one of the first people in Europe to use Kettlebells for martial arts in Europe (2000).
Recognizing that leading-edge training techniques require an increased focus on the safety of the martial artist or athlete being taught, Sifu Vik sought and acquired certification from two of the most respected sports science coaches in the world - Pavel Tsatsouline and Scott Sonnon, becoming the only instructor in Europe qualified in both Russian Kettlebells (RKC) and Circular Strength Training (CST).
Sifu Vik is now a highly-respected sports and martial arts coach, having trained K-1 and Escrima champions.
Sifu Vik is the longest serving practitioner of WT in the UK, completing the whole WT system and is the most experienced instructor in the practical use of the art, both in the competitive arena and on the 'street', having worked as a Door Supervisor for a number of years.
Sifu Vik is now the Chief Instructor for IMAS, using his in-depth knowledge of martial arts and sports science to produce superior martial artists in a rapid timescale.

Sifu Cliff Alderson
Sifu Cliff began training in martial arts in 1973. He has studied Shotokan Karate, Wu Zhu Quan (Five Ancestors Fist), and Chinese boxing with Master James Russell in London.
He then joined the Army and did seven years’ service with the British Airborne forces; learning modern weapons systems and combat tactics.
Cliff started studying Wing Tsun kung fu in West Germany in 1983 and continued in England in 1991. In ‘96 after teaching for several years and completing the wooden dummy form he was awarded the title of Sifu as was traditional in Wing Tsun circles.
Cliff ran several Wing Tsun schools over the years including some in London, Slough and Taplow. Some of his former students are now Masters, UK and World champions in various martial arts systems.
He instructed Wing Tsun in the UK from 1992 to 2002, before retiring from teaching for several reasons, one being to devote more time to extreme sports such as mountaineering and long distance cycling.
With the opening of IMAS in 2007 Cliff was impressed with many of the concepts developed by the founding instructors: The objective and scientific approach to training, honest and direct teaching methods, the excellent curriculum which enabled students to make rapid progress, the focus on modern sports science and the “no games and no secrets” attitude.
In March 2008 he started practicing Wing Tsun once again, with his former student Sifu Vik Hothi. Cliff is now an instructor for IMAS; teaching Wing Tsun and Chi Kung (Qi Gong).
Chi Gung is an ancient energy science developed over thousands of years in the far-east, it is related to martial arts and is similar in some ways to Kundalini Yoga. Cliff has been practicing Chi Gung for 34 years.
Sifu Cliff enjoys old school intensive training, Chi-gung, iron palm and all types of weapons training.
He has a big interest in martial arts history and has made a lifelong study of medieval Japanese weapons, particularly swords.
His interests outside of martial arts include free-climbing, shooting, mountain-biking and wilderness trekking.

Sensei Junior Senior is the founder and chief Instructor of SlougCobras. Junior was introduced to martial arts in Wolverhampton in the early 1980’s by Joshua Johnson (JJ) a 7 Dan Wada-Ryu Karate style Instructor.
Junior trained in Karate for 5 years and achieved an excellent standard before moving to Berkshire. He wasted no time finding a local school where he began practising kickboxing for the next 15 years and became a renowned personality on the light continuous circuit fighting for Warlords and Castle Warriors clubs.
Junior strived to increase his knowledge in the various martial arts so much so that he began to study other discipline such as:
Karate,
Tae Kwon Do,
Kung Fu,
Boxing
Junior has been training with the Slough Amateur Boxing Club to further improve his boxing skills. Training and sparring with the local talent both in and out of the ring. This lead him to attend a boxing Tutor course for the ABA. After completing the course starting a boxing class for people keen to learn boxing basic skills was the next thing. This bought Junior to the Unity Academy on Wednesdays 7- 8pm
Junior continued to compete in numerous Kickboxing Competitions and went on to win X2 Southern Area Full Contact Belts.
